We have heard many words expressed for what we do:
“Oriental Swing Punk“, “Balkan Pop“, “World’n‘Roll“, “Hippie-Ska“, “Gypsy Punk“, or just “Jazz-Shit“. We’re not sure if we will ever find a proper description and why should we? Listing all our influences would take up this entire website; and in the end who really cares…?
East is West, Heaven is Hell, you can’t hide…
We are not bound by origin or musical taste. There was no master plan, just a desire to create music together.
We are self-taught. We create our own instruments. We write our own music. We are self-managed. We do our own artwork. We run our own label. We are D.I.Y. to the bone.
We mash up whatever we can get our hands on. We are not traditionalist. There is no singular form to what we do. Our ship is made of stolen planks, buoying heavily but voyaging ahead and one day, when it sinks, everybody is invited for the last dance.
BudZillus is five people, sometimes six, sometimes more. Many have joined us on this enterprise for a while. Along the way we have met amazing people and seen so many beautiful places yet we feel the journey has just begun. We are determined to continue our adventures… as long as our legs will carry our decomposing bodies.
